Biography

Soprano Aislin Cecilia Alancheril is a trained vocalist and performer who brings the work of librettists and composers to life. She began her vocal studies at an early age, joining the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA, where she studied under acclaimed teacher Carole Haber and world-renowned opera star Jane Eaglen, along with coaches Justin Williams, Brett Hodgdon, and JJ Penna. Aislin is the recipient of the Faith Phillips Perera Memorial Scholarship, and a scholarship made possible by the Wallace Scholarship Fund.

Aislin has been cast as a soloist and a chorus member and has secured roles in NEC opera productions since 2021. She has performed throughout her school career, including fundraisers, opera scenes, several ensembles, and recitals. She made her opera scene debut in the fall of 2022.

Her experience training in opera, musical theater, jazz, rock, and pop has expanded her musical skills and knowledge. She sings in Italian, French, German, English, and Russian.

In the summer of 2024, she participated in a unique voice program, Si Parla Si Canta, in Arona, Italy, alongside prominent faculty and coaches Kim Josephson, Federico Sacchi, Brett Hodgdon, and Italian language teachers. This program helped further her knowledge of Italian culture and the operatic repertoire, with a special focus on the Italian language.

In May 2025, Aislin will receive a Bachelor of Music in Opera/Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. After graduation, she will seek employment as a private voice teacher and freelance illustrator while pursuing a career in opera. Born in Austin, TX, she is a native of Seattle, WA, and resides in Boston.
